Kyle “MoonMonkey” Pendergraft is an artist, writer, and podcaster based in Temple, Texas. His career began in advertising and graphic design, where he honed his skills working with a diverse array of businesses. After years of crafting compelling visuals and messages for others, he decided to embark on a solo adventure, “putting out his shingle” as an independent creator. Now, MoonMonkey channels his creativity into a variety of projects, including his unique art, engaging writing, and captivating podcasts, merging his love for retro aesthetics with modern techniques and technology.

MoonMonkey is married to the girl he chased in first grade, Megan. Together, they have a delightful little monkey, Kylie, a spirited older kid named Allie, and two uniquely… eccentric little dogs, Lilly and Honey. Their home is a lively blend of creativity and chaos, perfectly mirroring MoonMonkey’s artistic spirit.
Secret Origin
MoonMonkey discovered the mid-century period – like many millennials – through reruns on Nick at Nite. This early exposure to black-and-white TV – combined with an older relative’s comic book collection, Pee Wee Herman, and a full run of Crestwood monster books in the school library – fostered an all-consuming passion for a world he never made but has brought to life through his work.
MoonMonkey’s sexy and satirical creations celebrate the impeccable style of classic cool, infusing it with a contemporary edge. His art and writings offer an irreverent spin on American pop culture. His mission statement is to create a nostalgic yet fresh take on mid-century American pop.
