About MoonMonkey Art

Secret Origin

MoonMonkey discovered the mid-century period – like many millennials – through reruns on Nick at Nite. This early exposure to black-and-white TV – combined with an older relative’s comic book collectionPee Wee Herman, and a full run of Crestwood monster books in the school library – fostered an all-consuming passion for a world he never made but has brought to life through his work.

MoonMonkey’s sexy and satirical creations celebrate the impeccable style of classic cool, infusing it with a contemporary edge. His art and writings offer an irreverent spin on American pop culture. His mission statement is to create a nostalgic yet fresh take on mid-century American pop.
